What is the job role?
As an animal care assistant, you will need to visit Brandon Farm twice a day to complete all tasks including caring for, feeding, mucking out, and moving animals to paddocks/barns/stables in line with the animal's needs.
The casual hours will be working at weekends when required for approximately 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who likes working outdoors regardless of the weather and who will priortise the needs of the animals.
You will have proven experience working with animals, this can be in the form of education at college level or above or previous employment.
You will need to be able to recognise if an animal is unwell and may require veterinary treatment i.e colic, laminitis, fly strike, ORF On occasions you may be required to give medication to the animals.
After induction, you will need to be able to lone work.

An assessment day will take place on Wednesday 1st March 2023 at Brandon Wood Farm where you will hear about the service and what the job entails followed by a short face-to-face assessment and interview. Once you apply you will be invited to book a place to attend.
