Teacher of Business, Finance or Economics - Sidney Stringer Academy

What is the job role?

Business/ICT faculty consists of 9 full time and 3 part-time members of staff.

 

All members of the faculty share the responsibility for the on-going review and development of teaching programmes through regular meetings. The faculty team is committed to mutually supporting each other’s professional development with a strong emphasis on teamwork, collaboration and the sharing of good practice. Business studies offer a broad curriculum with a wide range of qualifications available to students including, A level, Vocational qualifications and from September 2023 technical qualifications in Finance. We are an inclusive department; every student counts and we ensure our curriculum and pedagogy meets the needs of every student who wishes to pursue business or related qualifications. 

 

The Business team currently deliver the following courses:

- A level Business (Edexcel)

- A level Economics (Edexcel A)

- Level 3 BTEC Business (Extended certificate, Diploma and extended diploma)

- GCSE Business (Edexcel)

- Level 2 BTEC Enterprise

- T level Finance (From September 2023)

 

The faculty offers a wide range of courses in Business, Economics, and ICT across all key stages. In the summer of 2022, Business studies enjoyed some of their best ever results.

 

To teach and carry out the duties of a subject teacher as set out in the most recent Teacher’s Pay & Conditions Document. Your aim is to be an effective teacher and tutor who challenges and supports all our students to do their best and achieve their potential in the ethos of Sidney Stringer Academy.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Business, Finance or Economics to work at Sidney Stringer Academy. You will be employed by the trust which consists of five schools led by Sidney Stringer Academy. The schools are Radford Primary Academy, Ernesford Grange Community Academy, Riverbank Academy (Special School), Sidney Stringer Primary Free school and Sidney Stringer Academy.

 

We are looking for a qualified and ambitious Business teacher to join our Business/ICT Faculty. The successful candidate will be dynamic, innovative and well-organised with high aspirations for the students that you teach. You will be committed to student success and passionate about innovative teaching and learning and curriculum.
