What is the job role?

School Caretaker (non-resident)

Permanent, all year round,

Grade 2 actual salary approx. £6,147 - £6,395 per annum,

12.5 hours per week; split shift daily, 6.30am – 8am and 6pm – 7pm

(school holiday hours may vary depending on the needs of the school)

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic caretaker (non-resident) to join our school team.

The caretaker plays a vital role in the school, being responsible for:

• Routine and non-routine opening and closing of the school premises, including setting alarms and key holding.

• Emptying litter bins and litter picking to keep the school site clean and tidy.

• Ad hoc cleaning as required.

• Help with gritting / keeping paths clear of snow and ice.

• Setting up chairs for school events.

• Helping to move deliveries around the school.

• Helping to move school equipment and furniture when required.

• Walking the school premises and school grounds and reporting any repairs or maintenance jobs to the school office.

You will need a flexible approach in line with the needs of the school. You will be friendly, approachable and form positive relationships with the school staff team.
