The Governors of Wyken Croft Primary School are excited to offer a part-time play worker role within our successful Phoenix Club. The club is an established before and after school facility providing high-quality care for our children. We currently operate both morning and afternoon sessions daily and operate during the school holidays. We are looking for the successful candidate to start as soon as possible.
This post is 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 3.00 pm - 5.00 pm.
What is the job role?
The successful applicant will;-
- Assist in the delivery of excellent creative and appropriate play opportunities in a safe, caring and stimulating environment by providing a programme of activities, services and facilities designed to meet individual needs.
- Provide full care for the children of school age, including the handover of children to classrooms, collection of children from classrooms and the safe delivery to parents and/or carers.
- Assist in the preparation of nutritious and well-balanced snacks.
- Assist in ensuring cleanliness and tidiness of the clubs facilities are maintained at all times.
- Work flexibly alongside other staff, parents or students.
- Administer first aid as appropriate
Who are we looking for?
You will need to:
- Have a good understanding of what makes good quality childcare.
- Have a level 2 qualification or higher in childcare or be working towards this qualification
- Have the ability to create and maintain excellent levels of behaviour
- Have excellent communication skills
- Have excellent teamwork skills
- Have the ability to provide creative play opportunities both inside and outside.
In addition, you will also need to:
- Be able to set up the equipment daily
- Be able to put equipment away at the end of each session
- Be proactive in ensuring the club has a clean and tidy environment
- Be able to work both outside and inside.
