Learning Support Assistant EYFS/KS1

About the team we are recruiting to

We are seeking to appoint a learning support assistant to support teaching and learning in an EYFS or KS1 class/year group. The role will involve working in an allocated year group/class and being an integral part of the year group team.

We are looking for creative, enthusiastic, organised and caring individuals who can work on their own initiative as well as being an effective team member. 

What is the job role?

Working under the direct supervision of the phase leader and class teacher, the purpose of the post is to provide support for teaching and learning within a class/year group.

 Applicants should have:

  • Good Literacy and Numeracy skills equivalent to NVQ 2 or GCSE (A-C grades) in English and maths
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent, Teaching Assistant
  • Good verbal and written communication skills including the use of ICT, in face to face situations and in the production of accurate written records and formal notes
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Ability to work effectively with and form supportive relationships with pupils
  • Ability to liaise with teaching staff and provide feedback on pupil performance in lessons
  • Ability to network with parents
