Attendance & Safeguarding Officer – Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School
What is the job role?
The Romero Catholic Academy based in Coventry has a vacancy for an Attendance & Safeguarding Officer to join our school attendance team. Our attendance team supports students whose education is at risk due to attendance related issues. The successful candidate will monitor attendance and support parents and students with any issues impacting this to reduce persistent absence.
Salary: £21,589 - £26,999 pro rata to term time working
Temporary contract to cover maternity leave
Hours: 37 hours a week, Monday – Thursday 08:30am – 4:30pm and Fridays 08:30am – 4:00pm term time only plus 5 teacher training days

The successful candidate will:
- Have good organisational and time keeping skills
- Good interpersonal skills including mediation and conflict resolution
- Demonstrable awareness of legislation relating to school attendance and safeguarding
- Experience of working in an educational or social care setting with young people
Whilst being a Catholic is not a requirement, you must be willing to support the Catholic life and ethos in our academies.
