Administrator - WMG Academy for Young Engineers

What is the job role?

The WMG Academy Trust Board is seeking to appoint a motivated and dedicated Office Administrator to join the WMG Academy for Young Engineers.

 

The WMG Academy Trust is seeking to appoint a highly professional and adaptable individual to support the Team Leader and the Principal in the day-to-day running of the WMG Academy for Young Engineers, Coventry.

 

Under the direction of the Team Leader, to support the day-to-day efficient and effective  administration of the WMG Academy to facilitate the operational needs of students, as well as staff, parents/carers, visitors and other

stakeholders.

 

Our school office has a small, dynamic and friendly team, helping us to support parents, staff and students with a number of related administrative tasks, to keep our ship sailing! We have about 50 staff  and the role would be responsible for a number of tasks where workload is shared and work rotated to suit the operation and play to each team members strengths! This will involve telephone duties, face to face reception,  email responses, learning about the school to answer questions for parents, taking on a variety of admin tasks which may relate to HR, Events, Admissions Administration, Finance and more! Essentially because we’re a small team, everyone mucks in and helps out so you’ll need to a good team player!

 

You will have: (list as appropriate – Assoc Principal to populate)

● 5 grades at GCSE including English and Maths

● 2 years experience in an Admin role

● Evidence of related administrative experience, preferably in a school.

● Excellent eye for detail, able to spot and minimise data errors

● Data processing and typing skills, and a good command of IT software.

● The ability to maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff

● Flexible and friendly approach

 

The exact duties and responsibilities will be negotiated with the post holder. These will include:

 

1. Maintaining attendance records and accurate details on student attendance through student and/or child phone calls, emails, proactively maintaining registers and related activities.

 

2. Talking to parents and students to facilitate the Admissions process and carrying out related administrative duties to support the Admissions Officer and the school office.

 

3. Helping to administer Staff Absence and Cover requirements as required to support the team, for example, receiving communication from absent employees, sending Return to work Forms for Return to Work Meetings and related data entry. Assist with staff cover communications and cover requirements

 

4. Administration as required for Awards, School trips, Data, Finance issues and any Curriculum/teaching & Learning activities as directed

 

5.Create and or maintain HR records and processes on systems via liaison internally and externally as required, collation of information and effectively organising administration.
