Early Help responds to the emerging needs of children and their families, focusing on building their resilience as well as providing help at a time when evidence indicates that support can have the most impact. Coventry continues to invest in the Early Help Service and is proud of the work that is delivered by a multi agency team from the 8 Family Hubs located in the communities across the city

What is the job role?
Coventry Family Hubs deliver integrated services for children, young people and families as part of the Family Hub and Best Start in Life programme, with the aim of improving outcomes across health, education, wellbeing and family resilience.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking team strengthening the Early Help youth offer across the city. As a Youth Support Worker, you will play a key role in enhancing and developing our youth provision within Coventry Family Hubs, ensuring young people receive timely, accessible and meaningful support within their locality.
Based within Family Hubs, you will be responsible for the planning, development, delivery and quality assurance of youth work programmes that respond to the identified needs of young people. You will work collaboratively with statutory, voluntary and community sector partners to enhance the local youth offer, reduce barriers to engagement and promote positive outcomes.
You will contribute to the Family Hub model by providing early intervention, strengthening protective factors and supporting young people to build resilience, confidence and aspiration. Your work will align with Coventry’s Early Help approach and the Best Start in Life vision of integrated, place-based support for families.
We are recruiting to two full-time, permanent Youth Support Worker posts.
All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Youth Support Worker who is keen to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people. You will have a strong understanding of the challenges facing young people today and be committed to supporting them to build resilience, confidence and achieve their full potential.
A key focus of this role will be strengthening and enhancing our existing Early Help youth offer within Family Hubs, ensuring it remains responsive, accessible and aligned to the needs of young people across the locality. You will work collaboratively with partners to ensure young people receive the right support at the right time.
You will hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate in Youth Work and be skilled in building positive, trusting relationships with young people. You will create safe and inclusive spaces where young people feel heard, valued and supported.
