What is the job role?

‘Skills for Life’ Instructor required for the

THE WEDGE WORKSHOP at SHERBOURNE FIELDS SCHOOL

Are you a semi-retired skilled handy person with excellent communication skills looking for a rewarding and interesting part time job? Are you able to engage with young people whilst sharing your passion and knowledge for all things practical?

We are looking to recruit a workshop instructor who is able to teach a small group of secondary aged students with moderate learning needs (assisted by 2 experienced Teaching Assistants).  

Students are taught various life skills including basic car maintenance, cycle repairs, woodwork, painting and tiling and work towards achieving Entry Level/Level 1 in Skills for Employment qualification. In addition, they also make items to sell at our Christmas Bizarre and Summer BBQ.

Experience is not essential as you will be supported by experienced staff and will follow standard course material. However, an understanding of our students; patience and a commitment to our school is crucial.
