Streetscene and Regulatory Services, Support & Technical Services are responsible for providing a day to day service for Whitley Depot Management, Streetpride, including War Memorial Park and City Centre, Park Services, Urban Forestry and Passenger Transport.
What is the job role?
We are looking for a Site Officer to provide on-site services for the Whitley Depot operational site. You will provide support to the Whitley Depot Manager, including monitoring the environment and care of the depot ensuring the Safety & Security of buildings/external areas.
You will be working on your own initiative and will be the first point of contact with any depot related issues ensuring Health & Safety compliance throughout the site which is managed by Whitley Depot Management.
Some of the main duties and responsibilities for this role include:
- Providing on-site services using your own initiative to ensure the satisfactory running and operation of Whitley Depot on a day-to-day basis.
- Monitoring the environment and care of the depot, to be responsible in resolving problems on the spot or reporting issues to the Whitley Depot Manager, as appropriate.
- Providing on-site support to Whitley Depot Management and other service areas, as directed by the Whitley Depot Manager, liaising with on-site contractors, carrying out a site induction, if required, assisting with the delivery of materials, off-loading as and when required.

Who are we looking for?
If you are self-motivated, organised, able to work flexibly, can work in a multi-disciplinary area, a team player and not phased working in a busy environment, this role might be the role for you!
You will require:
- A good working and demonstrable knowledge of Health & Safety practices and processes
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to communicate with other staff members, contractors and third parties, responding to enquiries in a friendly manner. Ensuring a high level of customer care
- Ability to undertake minor maintenance repairs along with being able to operate a fork lift truck as and when required.
- IOSH would be beneficial
