About the team we are recruiting to
Coombe Country Park is set on the outskirts of Coventry on the Brinklow Road. It is managed as part of the Park Service for the city council. Coombe has won many awards for it’s quality and excellence in management, conservation, visitor experience and education. These include SSSI status for 40years, Green Flag (Park and Green spaces excellence award), Visit England visitor attraction quality scheme, Natural England’s Country Park Accreditation and Trip Advisor certificate of excellence for consistently high ratings in our customer reviews. Our staff provide high quality provision in terms of green space care, development and restoration based on an important site for biodiversity amongst the wider ancient woodland landscape setting and the cultural & heritage setting of listed building (Coombe Abbey Hotel). We are visitor focussed, family friendly and encourage visitors to explore the site for heritage and biodiversity.
What is the job role?

Are you creative, flexible, reliable, up for a challenge, and thrive at working to deadlines, in a busy working environment with a range of different people? If so, we want to hear from you!
We have 2 part-time positions available for 18.5 hours each, however, hours can be flexible. The post will be based in the information centre at Coombe Abbey covering which is open from 9.30 am - 3.30 pm.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
In your role, you will be part of the team that ensures an excellent visitor experience and will be assisting with improving standards and the continuous development of the site.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Verbal communication skills - communicating with the general public, outside organisations and other employees, face to face and over the telephone.
- Experience working in a customer-facing role
- Working under pressure.
- We need someone who is able and willing to work on a rota shift which will mean working bank holidays, weekends, and for special events.
