About the team we are recruiting to
R&M is a service area within Coventry City Council which provides repair and maintenance services to Coventry City’s operational, commercial and school portfolio. We have a dedicated team with over 30 years’ experience of completing emergency and responsive repairs, planned preventative maintenance schedules and property improvements and refurbishments.
The R&M team is multi-disciplined providing building works, refurbishments, general maintenance, gas servicing, maintenance and installations, electrical works and a 24 hour a day, 365 days a year emergency call out service across all trades.
The service area aims to:
Ensure that the all statutory compliance with industry standards, British standards and relevant Approved Codes of Practice are achieved.
Repairs are carried out swiftly and to a high standard
Projects are delivered on time and on budget

What is the job role?
This is an exciting time for you to join our team as a Technical FM Support. Each day you will be faced with a new challenge and be required to be involved in many aspects of the department from reactive emergency call outs, planned project work and planned preventative maintenance. As part of this role, you will have to demonstrate an understanding in working in a fast paced, demanding customer focussed and responsive service. You will be responsible for monitoring that appointments are met as well as the reallocation and rescheduling of work for reasons of unplanned absence and emergency situations
You will be working as part of a supportive, flexible, and innovative team of work planners, skilled operatives' material buyers as well as working alongside our external customer services team.
Key Responsibilities include.
Day to day planning and managing of operatives work schedules
Creating purchase orders and paying invoices
Stock Management
Planning, directing, and controlling activities
Maintaining appropriate training records
Who are we looking for?
As Technical FM Support you will be technically minded, have great customer service skills and a good general knowledge of building maintenance trades. You’ll also be a real self-starter, who can effectively manage and prioritise your workload, and build links with a range of internal and external stakeholders/contractors.
