Teaching Assistant – John Shelton Primary School

We are currently seeking to appoint an outstanding Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our enthusiastic and caring team at John Shelton Community Primary School. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to the commitment of the role, will be able to communicate clearly and effectively with children, parents and other members of staff and will be able to work as part of a team as well as using their own initiative. They will have a caring attitude and show patience to ensure all children are well-cared for. The role will involve supporting class teachers in providing targeted support for small group intervention and also one to one support where necessary. The successful candidate will have additional duties, such as helping with planning meetings, working without supervision and liaising with teachers to devise complementary learning activities. Experience of working with children with specific special educational needs is desirable. Experience in supporting the delivery of phonics teaching would be highly beneficial.

Grade 4 - Permanent

32 hours per week (8:30am – 3:30pm)

39 weeks per year to include training days

Interviews: Thursday 31st March 2022. The interview will consist of a 15 minute adult-led group session based around a book of your choice. Year group to be confirmed.
