The successful candidate will join a fast improving department. Science is a popular subject, with many students choosing to study separate Science GCSEs. At KS5 A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry & Physics are offered, along with a range of BTEC Applied Science qualifications at level 2 and 3. You will be expected to teach all Sciences up to GCSE level.
Science is led by Assistant Principal – Head of Science and an Associate Head of Science. You will join a large and effective team supported by three full time Science technicans.
There are excellent facilities - there are eight purpose built laboratories and all classrooms have projectors and whiteboards and some are interactive. In addition to this, a separate STEM centre is beign developed that will provide further laboratories and classrooms for Science teachign and learning.
What is the Job role?
To teach and carry out the duties of a subject teacher as set out in the most recent Teacher’s Pay & Conditions Document. Your aim is to be an effective teacher and tutor who challenges and supports all our students to do their best and achieve their potential in the ethos of Sidney Stringer Academy.
Who are we looking for?
You will be employed by the trust which consists of five schools led by Sidney Stringer Academy. The schools are Radford Primary Academy, Ernesford Grange Community Academy, Riverbank Academy (Special School), Sidney Stringer Primary Free school and Sidney Stringer Academy. You would be teaching at Sidney Stringer Academy.
We are looking for a qualified and ambitious Teacher of Science to join our Science department. The successful candidate will be dynamic, innovative and well-organised with high aspirations for the students that you teach. You will be committed to student success and passionate about innovative teaching and learning.
