Teacher - Stoke Primary School

Fixed term Contract - Maternity Cover

Stoke Primary School is a popular, diverse, two-form entry school with delightful pupils and committed staff. The governors are keen to appoint a passionate and dedicated teacher to join our vibrant Year 1 team for a maternity cover position. As a forward-thinking school, we strive for excellence in education, and are seeking an energetic and ambitious teacher who shares our vision for elevating standards.

The Role:

As the Year 1 teacher, you will play a crucial role in developing our learning landscape where we have implemented a continuous provision model. This approach fosters a dynamic and engaging learning environment, providing our young learners with a rich landscape to explore and grow within. We strongly believe in enabling and facilitating child-initiated learning, allowing the children to drive their own educational journey and develop a genuine love for learning. Furthermore, you should be comfortable with a flexible teaching style, adept at working with small groups, offering one-on-one support, and engaging with whole-class instruction as needed.

Who are we looking for?

Key Responsibilities:

- Implement the continuous provision model in Year 1, creating an enriching learning landscape for children to explore and learn in.

- Foster child-initiated learning, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking amongst our young learners.

- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles, effectively transitioning between small groups, one-on-one sessions, and whole-class instruction.

- Collaborate with our dedicated, passionate, and enthusiastic team to provide the very best educational experience for our children.

Requirements:

- Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant teaching experience.

- Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning to ensure every child makes good progress.

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

- Energetic, ambitious, and willing to invest in creating an inspiring learning environment for Year 1 pupils.

- Committed to working in partnership with parents and carers.

- A commitment to promoting children’s welfare and safeguarding.

The successful candidate will be subject to all necessary pre-employment checks, including: an enhanced DBS; Prohibition check; Childcare Disqualification (where applicable); qualifications (where applicable); medical fitness; identity and right to work.  All applicants will be required to provide two suitable references.
