What is the job role?
We are currently seeking to appoint Support Assistants to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team working various hours and shifts including sleep-ins.
PILS supports adults with learning disabilities in their own homes.Our goal is to provide a high standard of care for everyone who has a service from PILS service promoting their dignity, respect, and independence at all times.
You will need to support service users with personal care as we are a domiciliary care service
You will support adults with a range of disabilities from mild learning disabilities to service users with complex needs.
You will be part of a team providing high standards of person-centred support to our Service Users.
Shift patterns: This is a 24/7 service where we have a range of shifts including early and late shifts, i.e., 7 am -3 pm or 2 pm-11 pm. Shifts vary for each post.
You may also be required to cover sleeping-in shift for which an additional allowance is paid. There may also be occasions where you will be lone working. All shift patterns are set on a rolling 6-week rota system Please do not apply if you cannot commit to this
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
As a Support Assistant, you will become a valued member of the team, having a creative and caring approach, you will build good relationships with the service users.
You will be committed to:
- Providing a quality service by promoting the physical (including the administration of medication), emotional, social and intellectual well-being of each service user.
- Ensuring that Health and Safety requirements are adhered to with due regard to service users, staff and all persons accessing the tenancy
- Safeguarding vulnerable adults
- Making sure the service provided meets the needs and outcomes of each service user.
You’ll need:
- A formal qualification is not required to apply but you will be expected to complete a Diploma 2 in Health Social Care
- To have a good knowledge of safeguarding, policies and procedures.
- To work with management to ensure that all service users’ needs are being met to support their individual outcomes.
- The ability to using own initiative and respond flexibly to the needs of service users promoting dignity, respect, and choice at all times
Once you apply you will be invited to an open day on the 20th June which will be held at the Job Shop 1 Bull Yard CV1 1LH where you will do a basic Math and English assessment and a multiple choice questionnaire. The assessments will be scored and if successful you will attend a short interview straight after.
