About the team we are recruiting to

You will be joining the Streetscene & Greenspace team as part of the City Centre and War Memorial Park Services, we are a hard-working team responsible for the maintenance, upkeep and improvement of streets, parks and open spaces by carrying out a range of associated street cleansing and grounds maintenance activities.
What is the job role?
As a member of the team, you will undertake a wide range of associated grounds maintenance tasks including hedge and shrub bed maintenance, grass cutting and strimming using a range of hand-held power tools. Other tasks will include emptying litter bins, removal of fly-tipping, discarded sharps, and the removal of spillages and dead animals.
You will also be responsible for undertaking general driving duties, which may include allocated vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes, and ride on grass cutting equipment. You must hold a category C1 full manual driving licence to apply.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is physically fit and able to walk for long periods of time working outdoors in all weathers. You will have good communication skills to respond to public enquires on-site and be able to complete small amounts of record keeping.
Working hours are 37 hours per week:
7am – 3pm Monday – Thursday
7am – 2.30pm Friday
