Building Cleaning Team is responsible for ensuring that all Council properties are clean and fit for occupation and securing a high level of occupant satisfaction.
What is the job role?
We have an opportunity within the building cleaning team for a casual special cleaning team operative with a chance of the role becoming permanent. You will work across a number of council and private buildings across the city, covering for sickness, absences and undertaking one off jobs such as deep cleaning private houses and cleaning outside areas such as car parks, although the jobs we undertake vary massively on a day to day basis.
This is a zero hour contract.
Who are we looking for?
Firstly you must have strong stomach and to be able to clean in some very unpleasant scenarios. You must be prepared to work both inside and outdoors. You will need a clean driving licence and be willing to undertake training to drive a council vehicle. We are looking for a natural leader someone who can work on their own initiative, organise teams of cleaners and be flexible and able to assist the planning busy work schedule.
You’ll need:
- Knowledge of all cleaning practises and machinery.
- Experience of jet washing and steam cleaning.
- Be able to work to strict timescales.
- Be able to understand verbal and written instructions.
- Be physically fit.
- Reliable, flexible, trustworthy and hardworking.
