The Operational team in the Social Work Academy supports Newly Qualified Social Workers through their first six months in direct practice by offering a supportive and developmental environment that allows them to grow and develop in a way that will really ensure that our Children receive good outcomes. 

What is the job role?

We are looking for an experienced Social Worker to join us permanently, as part of that journey to guide, mentor, and develop a cohort of Newly Qualified Social Workers as they take their first steps into the practice and develop their confidence, skills and knowledge as Social Work Professionals.

You will work as part of the operational team supporting NQSW’s to assess and support children and families to ensure that support is identified and responded to in a timely manner. This role would be great for an experienced Social Worker who is focused on developing Newly Qualified Social Workers skills and practice, or someone who has gained experience recently through their own Practice Educator journey and is looking to develop their leadership and mentoring skills.

Working within a highly regarded, efficient, and dedicated children’s services you will be given the opportunity to contribute to improving outcomes for children, young people, and their families.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Who are we looking for?

You believe in providing a high-quality service that ensures that the child is at the heart of everything we do.

You will need to have a recognised professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or CQSW) and Social Work England registration with experience in the management of dealing with child protection enquiries, completing duty assessments, and managing timescales.
