About the team we are recruiting to

We value diverse perspectives and experiences and are striving to create a workplace culture that is inclusive, is accepting of all and is free from discrimination and bias.

We have a simple vision and strategy that defines what we are trying to achieve, our purpose and our approach which underpin the principles of Adult Social Care, and we continue to work in support of this.

In a simple sense all our work, at whatever level should continue to support the strategy of: ‘Providing support, in the least intrusive manner possible, based on the assets, resources and abilities that are available to people’.

What is the job role?

Are you creative and want to influence our next new chapter?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Social Workers in our Newly Developed One Coventry Integrated Teams.

Local Integrated Teams are being built around localities to coordinate an urgent response, tailored to the needs of our people.  The teams will be responsible for responding to critical needs in the community, supporting discharge from the hospital and providing short-term reablement services.

As no two cases are the same, you’ll enjoy a diverse caseload and have the opportunity to stretch your social work skills. Dealing with a broad spectrum of complex issues, including Mental Capacity Act assessments and safeguarding, your sound understanding of our legal obligations, will support your decision-making.  Our teams pride themselves on being a supportive environment, where people can make the most of personal development opportunities to achieve positive professional outcomes.

This is a fabulous time to join us as we continue our journey of establishing the Local Integrated Teams with our system health partners.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is up for the challenge, who is compassionate but confident, who can work under pressure and self-motivated and be a key member of the integrated team on this journey.

Working as part of our Local Integrated Teams, you’ll have the benefit of engaging with people face-to-face as you work in partnership with Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and a range of other practitioners in this fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.  With excellent relationship-building skills, you’ll work closely with other members of the team across other locations, including the Acute Trust Hospital and short-term services providers.

As a qualified and experienced Social Worker, you’ll use a strengths-based approach to make confident decisions, even where there is uncertainty. With an understanding of how our services are structured, you’ll enjoy using a proactive problem-solving approach to achieve successful outcomes.

In return we can offer you a varied and fulfilling role where you can influence and evolve, to meet the needs of our vulnerable people.  You will be supported and work collaboratively with key stakeholders.  Development and exposure, and the opportunity to leave a legacy will be paramount in this new and exciting provision.

We particularly welcome applicants from minority ethnic backgrounds, who have a disability and applicants who are from the LGBTQ+ community to apply for our senior leadership roles. This does not prevent any other applicants with a protected characteristic or a non-protected characteristic from applying.
