What is the job role?

Finham Park School is the Lead School in the well established Finham Park Multi Academy Trust. Primary and secondary schools in Finham Park MAT will set out to pioneer, innovate and deliver a “World Class” education for all.

Finham Park School was judged as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2015, for the second time. It is a Specialist College in Mathematics & STEM, a “World Class” accredited school, and an international school It is highly over-subscribed with a Sixth Form of over 350 students. Finham Park holds is core values of Integrity, Kindness, Perseverance, Courageousness and Humility at its heart, and is a school which aims to prioritise the wellbeing of its stakeholders in every decision made.

The Governors are seeking to appoint a professional and enthusiastic Sixth Form Counsellor, to work alongside our existing school counsellor but to focus on post 16 students. This appointment will create capacity to offer the additional support required for students returning to school after the Covid 19 pandemic. The successful applicant will join an established Sixth form team who are committed to ensuring that Finham Park students have the best educational “experience” possible. The role will involve providing individual and/or group counselling and support service to sixth form students, but also to provide regular training to Sixth form staff, teachers and mentors, to ensure the principles of wellbeing are embedded within the culture of the Sixth form.
