Site Services Officer (SSO) - All Saints Church of England Primary School

What is the job role?
The Governors of the school wish to appoint an enthusiastic and caring person who will work effectively with the business team under the direction of the Headteacher. The successful candidate will have pride in the appearance of our school and be motivated to ensure a safe environment for our children and staff. They will be responsible for making sure site activities including Health and Safety, caretaking and compliance monitoring are carried out effectively.
The successful candidate will enjoy being part of a vibrant well motivated team who are keen to enrich the school experience for every member of the community. There will be a cycle of CPD opportunities to support them in their role now and in the future.
You will need to be able to deliver a high-quality maintenance service in a busy school environment. Due to the nature of the tasks required from this role, a good level of physical fitness will be required.
A good working knowledge of Health & Safety, previous experience in delivering quality 'handyman' tasks and experience with dealing with janitorial issues, both routine and reactive in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation, are necessary.
Working Pattern:
Term time hours 7am – 9.15am & 3pm – 6pm (Split Shift)
School holidays 8am – 1.15pm
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an efficient and highly organised individual to
manage our school premises and grounds.
The successful candidate should have:
• a good working knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation and its application.
• knowledge of janitorial/security duties and an ability to deliver a skilful handyman service.
• the ability to communicate well with all levels of staff/pupils/ parents, and visitors to the school.
• The ability to follow agreed regulations and procedures relating to the duties of the role.
• A friendly and approachable nature, and a ‘can-do’ attitude.
