About the team we are recruiting to

Coventry is the 9th biggest city in England and has ambitious plans to grow its economy, reputation and quality of life for its residents.

Destination Coventry is the Destination Management Organisation (DMO) for Coventry with the sole focus to create growth for the local visitor economy, creating and safeguarding  jobs in the sector and supporting our many tourism and hospitality businesses in the region. We also want to ensure our visitor experience creates a lasting impression.

In 2019, the visitor economy in Coventry was worth £594million as we welcomed 10.03 mil visitors. This demonstrated Coventry was leading the way regionally in the continued growth of volume and value in the visitor economy. In more recent years due to the COVID pandemic these visitor numbers and economic value has seen a significant reduction. However, due to the successes of the UK City of Culture 2021 and Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022 we are seeing growth back in the sector, we hope with the legacy of these two events this growth can continue for years to come.

What is the job role?

We have two Visitor Information Centres in Coventry, Coventry Rail Station and Pool Meadow Bus Station. The team are often the front face of the city to visitors and research shows are often who leaves the lasting impression.

The Senior Visitor Information Centre role will meet and greet visitors to Coventry giving them information on things to do and see whilst providing them a warm welcome to the city.

In addition you will delegate for the Team Leader on their days off, or during periods of absence.
