The Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) brings key professionals together to facilitate quality information sharing, analysis and decision-making, to safeguard vulnerable children, young people more effectively. Staff from across Health, Children’s Services, Police, Probation and Education are based in the MASH at any one time at its based in Broadgate House in the city centre. Our MASH is the front door to statutory services, by applying consistent thresholds based on Right Help, Right Time.
What is the job role?
This is a unique opportunity to join us as a Senior Practitioner in MASH permanently. You will assume a crucial role in managing and delivering effective and efficient services for children, young people, and their families.
Your responsibilities include providing professional supervision, adhering to Social Work England's code of practice, and contributing to team development. Flexibility and commitment to working outside office hours are essential to meet the diverse needs of families.
As a Senior Practitioner, you will be responsible for:
- Assessing and managing risk in complex and urgent situations.
- Providing professional advice and guidance to other agencies and professionals.
- Supervising and supporting other staff members in the team.
- Ensuring high standards of practice and record keeping.
- Contributing to the development and improvement of the service.
Who are we looking for?

You will be committed and passionate about practice, sharing learning and knowledge and developing others.
You will be a qualified and experienced Social Worker who has:
- A current registration with Social Work England.
- A sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- A proven ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
- Knowledge of assessment methods, care management and casework methods.
- Experience of carrying out a range of statutory work in childcare/child protection.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with children and young people and families
