Senior ICT Technician - The Romero Catholic Academy

What is the job role?

Looking for your next role in IT?  We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Senior ICT Technician to join our team!   

Whilst primarily based at Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School this position will support the IT infrastructure across the Academy with the collaboration of the Academy ICT Network Manager and the post holder may be based at any of the 8 sites within the Multi Academy Company.

The Senior ICT Technician will, by personal example, promote the Catholic ethos and Mission of the Academy, ensuring that it permeates all aspects of the life of the Academy.

Grade:  Grade 5 (£22,183 - £27,741 per annum)
Contract Type:  Permanent
Start Date:  ASAP
Hours:  37 hours per week

The successful candidate will:

  • Administration of all ICT networks, infrastructure, computer workstations, software and peripherals;
  • To ensure schools are compliant with GDPR and its implications for data storage, retrieval, dissemination and removal;
  • To provide a proactive, solution focused service to all users;
  • To install, configure, support and update IT systems;
  • To deploy update and upgrade all application software as required;
  • To attend to and repair technical faults and resolve user problems;
  • To create and manage staff and student e-mail accounts;
  • To source, replace and install consumables;
  • To provide 2nd line IT support;
  • To maintain and safeguard hardware and software in accordance with school policies;
  • To participate in and comply with backup procedures;
  • To keep up to date with emerging technology and new developments;
  • To update record keeping systems, escalating priority issues;
  • To contribute to the team’s knowledge base;
  • Provide monthly reporting on service levels for managed solutions.
