About the team we are recruiting to

Coventry Register Office has been located in its current premises since the mid-1960s.

A room is provided to fulfil the requirement to complete marriage and civil partnership ceremonies for a statutory fee.

In addition to registering today's events, the Register Office holds all the original birth, marriage and death registers from 1837 to the present day.

What is the job role?

We are looking for a dynamic customer-focused senior administrator to join our busy team based at Coventry Registration & Coroners Office.

You must have experience in dealing with the general public, preferably in front-line service, with excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to deal with clients from all backgrounds, sometimes in difficult situations.

You must have an appreciation of the need for confidentiality when dealing with a wide range of enquiries and the ability to cope with changing demands in work in a fast-paced service.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidates will have tact and diplomacy when dealing with parents, bereaved families, guests, and agents and be able to work both as part of a collaborative team and independently with minimum supervision.

We welcome applications from candidates who have excellent customer service skills, with an aptitude for dealing with people at some of the most important and emotionally heightened times of their lives. Accurate work, attention to detail, the ability to prioritise, and a high level of computer literacy are crucial in this role.

We work collaboratively to achieve the highest quality and most cost-effective service in accordance with the Council's policies and statutory requirements.

We have two available posts:

One full-time post - 5 days / 37 hours per week.

One part-time post - 5 days / Monday – Thursday 12.30 pm to 4.15 pm/Friday 12.15 pm to 3.45 pm/18.5 hours per week.
