Science Technician - Cardinal Newman Catholic School

Science Technician
Grade 5 £26 ,421 - £32,076 FTE pro rata per annum
Part-time, hours to be agreed, term time plus teacher training days

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Science department. 
The governors of this popular, over-subscribed, Catholic school are seeking to appoint a reliable, enthusiastic, creative person to ensure that all students are able to achieve their best, as they access the Science curriculum.

The successful candidate will:
•    Support the distinctive ethos of this Catholic School.
•    Have the ability to prepare resources and assemble apparatus.
•    Be responsible for obtaining materials by local purchase.
•    Carry out risk assessments for technician activities.
•    Assist in practical classes & carry out demonstrations.
•    Have due regard to confidentiality, child protection procedures, health and safety and other statutory requirements in line with the school’s policies.
•    Keep up to date with current procedures and practices through continuing professional development.
•    Follow GDPR guidelines at all times.
•    Be an effective role model for the standards of behaviour expected of pupils.

Cardinal Newman is a highly successful 11-18 Catholic comprehensive school set in 37-acre grounds in the pleasant outskirts of Coventry. This is a fantastic opportunity to help lead the school and make a significant contribution to the future success of the school.
