What is the job role?
Coundon Primary School is looking to appoint a SEND TA to support SEND children within our nurture provision. A knowledge of autism and national curriculum is essential as well as the ability to deliver specific interventions to small groups of children. The position is from 8.30am until 4.00pm each day term time only plus training days.
As a key member of our inclusion team, you will play a vital role in shaping brighter futures by combining tailored learning support with emotional and behavioural strategies.

The role is a SEND TA to work within our Nurture provision. You will be part of the inclusion team made up of teachers, SEND TA’s and a Learning Mentor, working closely together to provide personalised support for young people.
At Coundon Primary curricular continuity and progress is balanced with behavioural and emotional support to enable improved outcomes for all. Here you will be a role model and motivator.
You will be expected to support the teacher in the delivery of the curriculum, work with small groups and individuals in target interventions and have excellent behaviour management skills. You will have the skills to support pupils in the nurture provisions as needed and be able to model and share supportive strategies with your colleagues.

- Can deliver specific interventions in small groups out of class
- Is personally resilient

- Is a good communicator
- Has experience in a primary school or service setting
- Has experience supporting children with their Social, Emotional, Mental Health and learning needs
- Has experience in Safer Handing or Team Teach (although not essential) but a willingness to train and develop is
- Can deliver personal care when needed
- Understand the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and health and safety.
