What is the job role?

UPS plus TLR 2A

Charter Primary School are seeking an experienced, knowledgeable and impactful SENCO to join our dedicated and hard-working school on their journey of improvement. We are looking for someone to raise the bar for our most vulnerable learners and be a champion for every child. It needs to be an individual with commitment to make a real difference and the enthusiasm to help provide the very best opportunities possible for the children with additional needs in our care.

We are looking to appoint a qualified teacher and SENCO with the following;

- The National Award for SEND Co-ordination or be working towards this

- Experience of working with children with Special Needs

- Thorough knowledge of the new SEND Code of Practice

- Experience of leading and managing teams; with the ability to lead staff in developing their knowledge and expertise in working with SEND children

- The ability to communicate effectively with parents/carers about the needs of their child and effectively liaise with outside agencies and support services to meet the needs of learners and their families

- Is well organised and is able to manage time effectively

- Is able to work effectively with the head teacher and SLT to drive the school forward and raise standards of pupils with additional needs.

- The ability to support and overview the work of teaching assistants working with SEND children

- Is committed to their own professional development, seeking opportunities to develop their expertise and knowledge to further support all learners

This post is a full time position. The successful applicant will be required to teach across school for 0.5 of the week.
