About the team we are recruiting to
His Majesty's Coroner holds office under the Crown and is an independent Judge presiding over a Court of Record.
The role of the Coroner, with the assistance of his team, is to investigate and record the causes and circumstances of all sudden deaths where the cause is not known, violent or unnatural deaths and any death which happened while the deceased was in lawful custody.

What is the job role?
A permanent position to continue the development and maintenance of real time surveillance system to support the prevention of death by suicide in Coventry and Warwickshire. This role includes death data collection, bereavement (postvention) support, and the organisation of multi-disciplinary reviews, learning panels and cluster responses.
Real Time Data capture is essential in supporting the Suicide Prevention agenda, and with Coventry and Warwickshire developing a collaborative Suicide Prevention strategy, it is an exciting time to join this team.
This post holder will provide support across the Coventry and Warwickshire area via the Coroners teams based in Coventry and Warwickshire. The role will require working closely with Public Health and Safeguarding teams in Coventry City Council and Warwickshire County Council, West Midlands and Warwickshire Police forces, as well as other external partners to oversee the routine surveillance and response to deaths where suicide is indicated.

Who are we looking for?
The successful applicant will:
- Have knowledge of the principles and practice of surveillance including data management, transmission, security, quality and reporting.
- Have knowledge of regulations, legislation and policies in relation to Coroner functions.
- Be skilled in the use of IT packages, systems and databases.
- Have excellent analytical skills.
- Have good communication skills and be able to present evidence at panels, inquests and other hearings.
The ability to travel across the Coventry & Warwickshire sub-region in addition to being able to work from home is essential.
