About the team we are recruiting to

The Commercial Property Management are a small dedicated team of Surveyors and Property Managers who manage Coventry City Council’s large mixed-use commercial property portfolio which consists of approximately 1400 units of varying office space, retail, industrial and leisure generating a rental income of approximately £14m per annum.

What is the job role?

We are looking for a Property Manager to join our team. The team provide an effective day to day property management service for the commercial portfolio with the objective of prudent spend on the fabric of the commercial estate which will include enforcing relevant lease and statutory obligations.

• You will be the first point of contact for tenants’ queries and repair requests ensuring they are carried out swiftly and to a high standard.
• You will be required to carry out regular inspections and arrange works on both a reactive and pro-active basis paying particular importance to Health & Safety.
• You will also get involved with small works projects as part of the planned preventative maintenance programme to maintain and prolong the life of the buildings alongside the Building Surveying Team

This post has a career pathway for when a Property Manager gains the relevant qualifications to become an Area Surveyor. 

Who are we looking for?

If you are a natural self-starter, with attention to detail and a can-do attitude, this is an opportunity you will not want to miss.

You will have substantial experience in and a good working knowledge of day to day property management with the ability to successfully complete works within the remits of the departments and Council’s own policies and procedures.

You will have a working knowledge of project management tools and an understanding of general Health & Safety, Fire and CDM regulations.

In addition, you should have excellent communication skills, work on your own initiative whilst being a team player with the ability to meet deadlines. 

In return we can offer you an exciting, full time, 2-year fixed term contract.
