The Transformation Team sits at the heart of the Council. We work collaboratively with services across the organisation and with our partners to drive large scale change and establish best practice. The Council's Transformation Programme is overseen and supported by our Leadership Team, ensuring that our work always focuses on the key priorities for our city, having the maximum impact in improving services for the people of Coventry and making best use of the resources available to us.
Our team is made up of change professionals, trained in APM (Association of Project Management) and we use a wide range of project management and stakeholder engagement approaches to deliver our programmes and projects.

What is the job role?
A fantastic development opportunity for a Project Support Officer within the Transformation and Change team. This is an exciting time to join the team as we deliver the council’s change priorities.
The role is primarily based at Friargate. This is fixed term contract for 32hrs per week, for 8 months.
We are looking for someone who is interested in service improvement and change, and who wants to develop their skills
Previous knowledge or experience of working in a formal project or change role is not a priority. We are more interested in your skills, potential, and willingness to learn, and we will support you to develop further in the role.
What you will be doing
As a Project Support Officer, you will:
- Support the planning and coordination of project activity to progress work at pace
- Undertake research and analysis, using information and data to support decision making
- Contribute to project plans, reports and presentations
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues across different services and all levels of the organisation

We are looking for someone who has some experience or confidence in the following areas, and the appetite to develop further:
- Good interpersonal skills, with some confidence in dealing with senior colleagues
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage tasks and work to deadlines
- An ability to undertake research and analyse information to draw clear conclusions
- The ability to work as part of a team on reviews and project activity
- A constructive approach to building and maintaining effective working relationships
