About the team we are recruiting to
The Education and SEND service strives to work in partnership to enable children, young people and adults to access high quality and inclusive education and learning, so that they develop resilience, make positive life choices and contribute to a vibrant Coventry City.
The directorate is made up of 2 service areas: Education Improvement & Standards and Special Education Needs & Disabilities & Specialist Services.

What is the job role?
We are seeking to recruit to a full time, permanent Project Support Officer to be based in our Education and SEND Service and reporting to the Education Capital Strategy Manager.
The successful candidate will provide project support to enable delivery of sufficient places for Coventry children and young people and management of the education capital programme.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
To be successful, you’ll need to have good project management skills, knowledge and experience, ideally for school projects and a good track record of delivery.
You’ll have strong abilities of analysing, understanding and interpreting complex technical, financial, procurement, contract management and legal issues. You’ll be adept at working with people at all levels including head teachers, elected members, professional advisors and members of the public and to have good influencing and negotiation skills.
You’ll be a good team player with good interpersonal skills, a good track record who is wholly committed to achieving the very best. In return, you’ll work with a talented and creative team, one that will support and challenge you every step of the way.
