Coventry City Council's Payroll & Pensions Service provides the full range of services to Council, as well as to external customers on a traded service basis.
Our People Plan 2022-25 sets out our ambitions as a HR service that will inspire others, working towards being a more diverse and inclusive employer. Providing learning opportunities for the future including having a digitally enable workforce.
The work of our team spreads across two main areas: Council services/LA schools and external customers, and we provide our services to approx. 40 external customers, paying up to 12,000 people. We have an excellent reputation and wish to grow our capacity for new business opportunities.
What is the job role?
You will be given training on the system, legislative requirements and terms and conditions that are needed to provide the services, leading to qualifications in Payroll or Pensions.
Initially working alongside experienced staff, you will on a day to day basis carry out a range of task that include statutory and non-statutory deductions, employment contract changes, starters and leavers and manual calculations for both payroll and pensions
We work on a flexible basis and currently combine both home/office working.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an individual who has excellent numeracy skills with an interest in pay and finance. Accuracy & attention to detail is paramount.
You should be able to work at a fast pace and be flexible in order to meet numerous deadlines every month.
Quality is at the heart of everything we do and you should be passionate about providing excellent customer service.
