What is the job role?

The People and Culture Team are looking for an apprentice eager to work on a wide variety of projects and activities across the People and Culture team as well working with specialist services across Coventry City Council, such as Adult Social Care.

Supporting the People and Culture Officer, this is a unique role offering the chance to develop both your administrative, financial and customer service skills while studying towards the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship qualification.

This apprenticeship will be for a period of approximately 18 months (up to a maximum of 21 months to include the End Point Assessment EPA).

Admin duties will include assisting with the commission and management of training provision across the Council, coordinating with staff, making room bookings, and monitoring functional mailboxes.

Finance tasks will include supporting the monitoring and management of finance systems to raise, check and authorise invoices. You will also assist with the administration and management of various training related payments across the Council.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for applicants that are:

  • Keen to learn to use a variety of finance systems to support the production of invoices and payments on behalf of the People and Culture team
  • Able to work accurately with good attention to detail
  • Able to communicate effectively with customers, partners and stakeholders ensuring excellent customer service is always provided
  • Digitally literate and able to use a variety of programs for word processing, data entry and record keeping
  • Able to understand the importance of data protection and confidentiality

Pre Interview and assessment date: Monday 24th or Tuesday 25th April (via Microsoft Teams)

* (The pre-interview is a short session to give you further details of the apprenticeship role and to help you understand what to expect and how to prepare for the final interview. You will also complete a short diagnostic assessment to check the level of Maths and English that you are currently working at and identify any support you may require). 

Interview date: Wednesday 3rd May (Face to Face at One Friargate)
