Promoting Independent Living Service supports adults with learning disabilities to maintain their tenancies. Our goal is to provide a high standard of care for everyone who has a service from PILS service promoting their dignity, respect, and independence always.

What is the job role?

We are currently seeking to appoint Night Support Assistants to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team.

You will need to be able to support service users with personal care if required as we are a domiciliary care service.

You will be part of a team providing high standards of person-centred support to our Service Users, supporting them to assist and encourage each service user in all aspects of their own personal care, e.g. dressing, washing, bathing, and assisting where necessary.

The hours start at 9.45pm -till 7.15am This will involve maintaining a wakeful watch throughout the night and regular tours of the building

There are two part time temporary posts.

The first post is working 23 hours a week between 9.45pm – 7.15am.

In addition to your salary, you will receive a shift allowance of 33%. This post is up to 3 months only to cover long term sickness.

The second post is covering maternity leave which is up to 12 months. The shift for this post is every Sunday night each week 9.45pm – 7.15am. and one Friday in the month 9.45pm – 7.15am. the temp contract is 11.75 hours per week – 47 hours per month. This post also receives 33% shift allowance.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Who are we looking for?

You will be committed to:

  • Providing a quality service by promoting the physical (including the administration of medication), emotional, social, and intellectual well-being of each service user.
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety requirements are adhered to with due regard to service users, staff, and all persons accessing the tenancy
  • Safeguarding vulnerable adults
  • Making sure the service provided meets the needs and outcomes of each service user.
