About the team we are recruiting to

The Facilities Management (FM) Service comprises several diverse and multi-disciplined teams that are responsible for the safe operation, management, maintenance and efficiency of the Council’s property assets.  The teams provide a range of services and support to the Council’s operational, commercial and schools portfolios ensuring the Councils legislative obligations are fulfilled. 

  • Repairs and Maintenance (R&M) Team

  • Compliance and Surveying Team 

  • Building Cleaning Team – Responsible for ensuring that all Council properties are clean and fit for occupation and securing a high level of occupant satisfaction.  

  • Property Information Team

  • Energy Management Team

  • Facilities Management & Site Services Team 

What is the job role?

We have multiple part time opportunities for Cleaners within our Cleaning team.

Number of hours per week: Various maximum 15.5 hrs per week

Shift Rota:     Early mornings between 6.30am - 9.00am

                         Evening shift between 3.30pm and 6.30pm

Location: City Wide multiple locations

We are a key service department within the Council providing a routine cleaning service to corporate and public buildings, including the Council’s head office at Friargate and libraries. We expect our team to achieve high standards of cleaning and to have a can-do approach, in return for which we offer a competitive rate of pay and pension scheme, good training, development and support.

In your job role you will:

  • Clean a designated area to a high standard
  • Undertake mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, polishing and buffing
  • Cleaning of toilets and emptying bins
  • Clean with due care to health and safety
