This is an exciting time to join Coventry's Mental Health Services. Following our recent successful Adults CQC inspection, we are continuing to invest in and strengthen our mental health services to ensure people receive high-quality, person-centred support when they need it most.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, motivated and Social Work England registered Social Worker to join our Mental Health Team in Coventry.
The work is stimulating, demanding and at times challenging, but it is also highly rewarding. You will be committed to working as part of an experienced and supportive team. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, keen to learn, adaptable to changing situations and able to manage competing demands. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or suitably experienced Social Worker to join Coventry's Mental Health Services and help enhance the quality of care and support provided to the people of Coventry.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will have:
- Excellent assessment and analytical skills.
- A sound working knowledge of, and ability to apply, the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Care Act and Children's Act.
- Strong organisational, recording and workload management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and listening skills.
- The ability to build effective working relationships with people who use services, carers and professional colleagues.
- A commitment to collaborative and multidisciplinary team working.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work autonomously when required.
- Experience of developing person-centred care and support plans.
- Good IT skills.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and ongoing learning.
- Resilience, flexibility and the ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment.
