Fleet Management is a key support service for many internal and external customers at Coventry City Council.  We are based in a fully equipped vehicle workshop at our Whitley Depot site and are responsible for the repair and maintenance of approximately 500 items including vehicles and plant machinery and equipment. We are also responsible for the provision of fuel to our customers, and in addition provide a driver training service to many customers.

We want every single customer to have a positive experience when working with fleet management and would welcome you being part of the team.

What is the job role?

You will have the opportunity to undertake mot Inspections of a wide range of vehicles within class 4 and 7, including vehicles engaged on local taxi services. The will also be scope for some service, inspection or repair work on light goods vehicles or pool cars.

The work ensures adherence to legislative and health and safety requirements, and is aligned to a planned inspection schedule, and agreed to procedures and targets.

We can offer you a very attractive package:

  • £24496 up to £30151.
  • £435 per annum tool allowance
  • 37-hour working week

  • 28 Days holiday plus bank holidays (rising to 33 days after five years)

Who are we looking for?

In addition to your qualification, you are likely to have practical experience in MOT testing in a fleet environment. You will also have experience in inspecting and maintaining light goods vehicles.

You will have a flexible approach to work and an ability to adapt to a changing working environment to meet customer needs.

Working Hours:  Mon - Thurs: 6.30 am - 3.00 pm. Fri 6.30 am - 11.30 am
