This is an opportunity for appropriately qualified and skilled candidates to join the enthusiastic, committed and experienced Coventry Adult Education Service ESOL team. We deliver high quality, accredited and non accredited ESOL programmes to men and women from a range of cultural backgrounds across Coventry in the morning, afternoon and evening.
We have 2 full time fixed term contracts until July 2024 to plan, prepare and deliver high quality ESOL sessions on a year-round ESOL programme for recent arrivals to the city. You will work closely with other members of Coventry Adult Education Service ESOL team, the Job Shop and Coventry City Council's Migration Team to develop and teach intensive courses to meet the needs of learners. This programme will support learners to improve their English, integrate into the city and prepare them for employment.
The programme will not follow the school year and will continue to run during the school holidays but there is a generous holiday allowance which can be taken at other agreed times of the year.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

You should have an appropriate teaching qualification and an ESOL subject specialist qualification at Level 4 or above. Flexibility and the ability to teach during the school holidays and some evenings are essential. Experience of working with mixed level groups and recent arrivals to the UK would be an advantage.
Following recommendations from Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) for an additional pre employment check with effect 1 Sept 22, please note, an online search may form part of this recruitment process.
