Fleet Management is a key support service for many internal and external customers at Coventry City Council.  We are based in a fully equipped vehicle workshop at our Whitley Depot site and are responsible for the repair and maintenance of approximately 500 items including vehicles and plant machinery and equipment. We are also responsible for the provision of fuel to our customers, and in addition provide a driver training service to many customers.

We want every single customer to have a positive experience when working with fleet management and would welcome you being part of the team.

What is the job role?

The role is to support our fleet maintenance function and entails the provision of general workshop assistance including driving and cleaning duties within the service area. You will also undertake vehicle washing duties of fleet vehicles on a daily basis.

We have one post available working 37 hours per week.

Monday - Thursday 2.30pm - 11.00pm and Friday 11.00am - 4.00pm

Who are we looking for?

To apply for this role you will need a full clean driving licence. You will be required to drive motor vehicles and operate a fork truck (or similar lifting equipment) in this role.

You will have practical knowledge of cleaning commercial vehicles (light and heavy). and workplace areas, and knowledge of basic health and safety requirements relative to the workplace environment. You will have a flexible approach to work and an ability to adapt to a changing working environment( including shift patterns), to meet customer needs.
