What is the job role?
Coventry Dementia Partnership Hub (Previously Maymorn Day Centre) is currently recruiting for a Permanent Food Service Assistant
You will be a part of a fairly new but established team. The ethos of the service is to enable people to live well with Dementia.
The HUB will provide traditional day services alongside drop-in sessions and an outreach service. At the heart of the hub will be a dementia-friendly café/social space, an integral facility to improve the social lives of people living with dementia. Your role will include providing a welcoming and responsive environment to ensure people visiting feel safe and valued. As part of the team, you will support the Café to: provide light refreshments and drinks, maintain high standards of food hygiene/ cleanliness.
The café operates Monday to Friday, and you will support the Day centre on a Thursday and Friday, ensuring that the service users who attend have their needs met nutritionally. The hours you will work will be 11.30-2.30 Monday to Friday, equating to 16 hours per week. This can be flexible based on the needs of the service
This is a great opportunity to be part of a team who are passionate about delivering a high standard of support and care to people who have Dementia whilst ensuring they have a meaningful visit to the centre.
Whilst our positions are open to all applicants, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role; therefore, all applicants must have the Right to Work in the UK. If you are on a limited visa, you must have a minimum of two years remaining.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
A confident and passionate worker who takes pride in supporting to provision of a variety of light refreshment options such as Cooked breakfast, Toasted Paninis, Jacket potatoes, sandwiches, Soup and cakes. We are currently looking at extending the menu.
The Hub is intended to be accessible to all cultures and backgrounds, so you would need to embrace the celebration of important dates during the year, such as St George's Day and Diwali.
