What is the job role?

We are recruiting to several casual positions for Food Service Assistants within Housing with Care.  We provide a hot lunch time meal to our clients on a daily basis.  Your role will include providing a welcoming and responsive environment to ensure tenants feel safe and valued as part of the team, you will maintain high standards of food hygiene/cleanliness in line with best practice, and to ensure compliance with

The role will involve:

  •   Serving meals
  •   Food preparation
  •   Kitchen Cleaning
  •   Washing up 

All positions are casual and working hours are between 9.30 am – 3.00 pm we offer a 7-day service.

You will require good oral and written skills in communicating with a variety of people.

You will be required to work alone and prioritise your workload and prepare and present meals for a diverse client group.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

 

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have some experience of working in a catering environment, have some knowledge of Health and Safety practices, and have the ability to carry out lifting and carrying duties. You must also have, or train towards, Basic Food Safety Level 2 certificate and be willing to undertake any other training applicable to this role.

Flexibility to carry out the duties of the role, along with reliability is essential.

Interview date: 22nd June 2023 The interview will include a practical assessment within the unit interviews cannot be done over MS Teams.
