Adult Social Care encompasses a wide range of vital services covering;

  • Commissioning Team – we commission and work with a number of providers, to ensure that people with care needs have access to a range of good quality support to enable them to live independent and fulfilling lives
  • Social Work Services - we work with individuals who have care and support needs, and with their carers be they older or younger adults
  • Occupational Therapy and Equipment Services - we aim to enhance people’s ability to live safely and independently in their home
  • Internally Provided Services – we provide direct support to people enabling those in most need to live independent and fulfilled lives
  • Business Systems and Continuous Improvement - we provide a range of services including Financial Assessments, provider payment processing and Business Systems administration. The Business Systems team provide support to Adult Social Care, Children’s Services and Education Services.

What is the job role?

The Financial Operations Service provides front-line support to adult social care service users and providers of care.

The primary responsibilities of the service are to provide accurate and informed financial support to senior managers, providers who provide care for residents who use local authority-funded care services, and ultimately our service users.

The team is also responsible for monitoring a budget in excess of £60M, this requires excellent analytical skills and an eye for detail and paying local authority-commissioned providers of adult social care.

With the recently announced changes to the adult social care charging model, known as the Social Care Reforms, there has never been a more exciting time to join a diverse and driven team.

You will be responsible for processing payments for adult social care commissioned services. Working with providers you will be responsible for undertaking payment queries and liaising with providers to ensure the accuracy of financial processing activities. Working to the Financial Operations Manager, the role will support managing the relationships with the local authority and adult social care commissioned providers.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

 

Who are we looking for?

For this role, we are looking for someone who has a keen grasp of financial management processes. The role also requires strong interpersonal skills to ensure relationships with external and internal stakeholders can be developed and managed.
