We are looking to appoint a Family Support Worker to support our current pastoral lead to work within the school in line with safeguarding policies and to work closely with children and families within our school community.
The successful candidate will need to follow the correct protocols to make referrals to Social Services and other statutory agencies, in response to concerns raised by stakeholders whilst keeping up to date records of all concerns and responses and ensure compliance with safeguarding standards.
The successful candidate will work closely with children running emotional and wellbeing interventions both 1:1 and in small groups.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and innovative Family Support Worker to have a positive impact on the wellbeing of our more vulnerable children by helping to remove barriers to learning.
The Family Support Worker will be the School’s Designated Safeguarding Lead, working alongside the Head Teacher and other members of the Senior Leadership Team. They will manage pastoral care across the school to ensure there is high quality pastoral provision in place, with a responsibility for safeguarding, attendance and supporting medical needs. Other expectations are:-

• To line manage and organise the work of the staff within the Pastoral Team and any associated budget
• To work collaboratively with other leaders within the school as part of the school Inclusion Team, in order to address the needs of children who need help and support to overcome barriers to learning both inside and outside school in order to achieve their full potential
• To work with pupils and families in need of support to improve outcomes
Desirable experience:
• Working with outside agencies and attending safeguarding meetings.
• Working with children and families within a range of contexts.
• Completing reports of meeting outcomes, planning next steps and identifying children’s progress.
