Early Help responds to the emerging needs of children and their families, focusing on building their resilience as well as providing help at a time when evidence indicates that support can have the most impact. Coventry continues to invest in the Early Help Service and is proud of the work that is delivered by a multi agency team from the 8 Family Hubs located in the communities across the city

By collaborating with the Supporting Families Teams, Social Care Teams and a wide range of partners we will ensure that families receive the right help at the right time by the right people.

What is the job role?

Fixed Term Role until March 2029

We are excited to recruit a new role within our already established Family Relationships Team. 

To lead and coordinate initiatives that support families in building healthy relationships and reducing parental conflict, ensuring positive outcomes for children and parents.

  1. To support the early identification and reduction of parental conflict, ensuring that children and young people are protected from its harmful effects. The role involves delivering evidence-based interventions, supporting practitioners, and working in partnership with families and agencies to promote positive parental relationships.
  2. To work in partnership with a range of services such as Health, Schools, Early Years providers, Housing, Police, and third sector organisations to empower families to sustain positive changes that will improve the outcomes for children and young people.
  3. To lead on and be responsible for the planning and delivery of evidence based individual and group work programmes to families experiencing parental conflict
  4. Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions.
  5. Train and support practitioners in best practices for conflict resolution.
  6. Maintain accurate records and report on progress to stakeholders.

All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
 

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who shares our passion for supporting families and building stronger communities. You will be 

  • Understanding of family relationships who are experiencing parental conflict 
  • Knowledge of impact of parental conflict on children’s well being
  • Training in evidence-based parenting or relationship programmes 
  •  Experience in delivering group work or training 
  • Experience working in a relational approach in practice
  • Experience of working with families with diverse and complex needs delivering direct support or group interventions 
  • Self-driven and proactive &  ready to take the lead on building this new role, show initiative and find opportunities to share  with partners through Coventry City.
  •  Be Professional yet approachable and able to build trust and positive relationships.
  • Adaptable,  resilient and comfortable working in a changing environment and staying focused when challenges arise. Working closely with parents, partners, and colleagues.
  • Committed to making a real difference – because every family deserves the chance to flourish.
  • Relevant level 3 qualification and substantial experience of working with children, young people and families in early years, social care, health or school settings
