About the team we are recruiting to
The Facilities Management Operations Team are Responsible for ensuring the smooth day to day operation of the portfolios by space planning, service charge preparation and management, contractor management, meeting room setup, porterage and health and safety management. Part of this service area is our Housing & Homelessness portfolio.
What is the job role?
We are looking for a Facilities Officer to support our Housing and Homelessness estate. The successful candidate will be joining at an exciting time as the council expands on purchasing properties to use as temporary accommodation for individuals and families. The Facilities Officer will be responsible to the Facilities Manager – Housing & Homelessness and will work closely with the Housing and Homelessness team. You will be responsible for ensuring our properties are supported and maintained ensuring safe and secure accommodation for tenants. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Carrying out repairs and maintenance
- Void turnarounds and inspections
- Health and safety inspections and testing
- Grounds maintenance
- Cleaning & portering
The role works a rotating shift of week one (7am-3pm) week two (10am-6pm). A 10% shift allowance is applied to this role.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
For the role you’ll need:
- Experience in a Facilities /Building role
- Good level and application of general repairs and maintenance
- H&S knowledge
- The ability to travel around the City to our various properties
- Willingness to undertake training in relation to the role including first aid
- Have a full driving licence
