Our team maintain 6 Cemetery's which are owned by Coventry City Council, we provide a dignified place for loved ones to be laid to rest. Due to the nature of this role you need to be respectful in the environment in which you will be working and will have to demonstrate customer care skills.

We are looking for someone to join our modest team as an Estate Maintenance/ Grave Digging Operative. This is a unique role in which you will contribute to a wide range of maintenance activities in tight deadlines, this includes manual and mechanical diggings and back filling of graves, preparing and setting out a grave for burial, grounds maintenance activities such as mowing and hedge cutting.

Training is provided:  You MUST be available for a Grave Digging training course in Wales, from 16th August to 20th August. Travel and accommodation is provided.

Who are we looking for?

As a successful candidate you should be able to demonstrate your knowledge and practices of tools/equipment that will include working below ground level, ride on mowers, strimmer’s, hedge cutters and various hand tools. You must also hold a full driving licence.

Working days: Tuesday - Saturday. 

In this role you will need to be:

  • Respectful in the environment in which you work
  • Able to communicate effectively with members of the public
  • Work within a team to achieve tight deadlines
  • Able to work out in all weathers
  • Have a working knowledge of horticultural and or excavating tools and equipment
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety within the work place
  • You will need to demonstrate your customer care skills
