About the team we are recruiting to

Our Human Resources Service supports the implementation of the Council’s One Coventry Plan and leads on the implementation of our People Plan. Our vision is to be a diverse, innovative and inspiring place to work that enables our people to be themselves whilst performing at the highest levels to support the citizens of Coventry. 

What is the job role?

Located within the People & Culture team you will be required to lead on the development and implementation of the Council’s revised Employee Engagement Strategy as well as managing our existing and future talent. In addition to line managing our apprenticeship team you will also be required to proactively assist the career development and aspirations of employees identified as being under-represented across the organisation in line with the Council’s strategic ambitions.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills and an understanding of how effective employee engagement, positive action programmes and talent development initiatives can add value within a large, complex public sector organisation. 

To be successfully appointed you will need to be CPID Level 7 qualified and hold a leadership and management qualification at Level 7.
