Our Human Resources Service supports the implementation of the Council’s One Coventry Plan and leads on the implementation of our People Plan. We have two exciting opportunities available to join our team.
Employee Engagement and Talent Advisor: Grade 7 (Salary range £36648.00 - £43421.00):
In this role, you will play a key part in enhancing the Council’s current talent development provision, through the design, implementation, and evaluation of approaches such as shadowing, mentoring and sponsorship, whilst ensuring alignment with our organisational vision and values. We undertake that every intervention has clear business and organisationally focused aims, aligned with the Council’s People Plan and the Council's commitment to diversity and inclusion. The role will support the delivery of a range of employee engagement initiatives at various stages of the Employee Lifecycle, to help improve the employee experience.
Corporate Learning and Development Advisor Grade 7 (Salary range (£36648.00 - £43421.00 ):
A key focus of this role will be to develop, deliver and evaluate a range of corporate and specialist learning and development programmes and interventions, that have a positive impact for our employees and the services we provide to the people in Coventry.
Ensuring that our Corporate Learning and Development Offer is effectively delivered to meet the objectives in our One Coventry Plan to provide our people with the right skills and knowledge to meet our future needs. This will include leading on the implementation of effective strategies to ensure there is organisational compliance in areas such as Induction and Mandatory training. In addition, you will be required to work in collaboration with stakeholders to identify and manage the training delivery and commissioning of training across specialist service areas.

Who are we looking for?
The People and Culture Team are passionate about supporting our diverse workforce to develop and achieve their full potential. To be successful in either role, you will need:
- Broad experience of the design, delivery and evaluation of learning and development activities to deliver service outcomes and support employees to meet their full potential
- To understand how inequality can affect the lived experiences of those staff who are under-represented across the organisation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to facilitate groups and deliver training and/or workshops to large audiences with varied needs.
- Experience delivering and implementing talent development and/or training interventions to diverse audiences, using a range of different learning and development tools/ techniques and measuring impact.
- Knowledge of how effective learning and talent development initiatives can add value within a large, complex public sector organisation.
- The ability to manage and prioritise your workload to meet challenges deadlines and balance competing and conflicting demands.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, the ability to provide constructive feedback, and effectively communicate complex ideas and information to a range of audiences.
- To be organised, self-motivated and passionate about improving processes for employees to assist them to deliver the best services for Coventry people.
- The confidence to challenge thinking and influence outcomes to support a culture of continuous improvement and able to fully utilise the diverse skills, strengths and contributions of teams, networks, and partners.
- Experience of implementing a range of learning and development tools and techniques and a good understanding of ICT systems such as Excel, Sharepoint, Office 365 and presentation packages.
